Prerequisite required: Successful completion of the Advanced Vehicle Contraband Concealment course, Presented by Highway Interdiction Training Specialists Inc.
The two and a half days (20 hours) Advanced Vehicle Contraband Concealment Phase II hands-on training course is specifically designed to meet the need of providing police officers with hands-on training in the task of physically searching vehicles for concealed contraband.
The Advanced Vehicle Contraband Concealment Phase II hands-on training course is comprised of a series of practical exercises and demonstrations that challenges the officer parallel to that of real-world situations. The course further benefits the officer by them having to conduct a series of systematic searches of vehicles and successfully locate concealed contraband as well as exposing them to current trend concealment methods used by contraband smugglers. The officer will be exposed to equipment and tools available to them as well as their proper function and applications. The student will be presented with several vehicles and other hands-on items each having specific challenges as it relates to concealed contraband in vehicles. The officer will have to use the specific techniques they have previously learned in the classroom course Advanced Vehicle Contraband Concealment. The practicality of the course also combines an immediate evaluation of each measurable task and any necessary corrections being made before the student moves on to the next station or challenge.
Upon completion of the Advanced Vehicle Contraband Concealment Phase II hands-on training course the officer will be able to apply the techniques previously learned in the Advanced Vehicle Contraband Concealment classroom course to properly search vehicles and locate any concealed contraband that may be secreted inside. The techniques learned in the classroom will be reinforced with this hands-on series of practical exercises and demonstrations.
Students will need to wear suitable clothing that may be exposed to oil, grease, and dirt.
